The work presents the results of the analyses of longstanding trends of yearly precipitation for the area of Eastern Kujawy. The analysis has been carried out and presented for eight precipitation stations by means of the linear trend and the moving trend (segment). The research encompassed the time span between 1951 and 2010. For all of the series, it would have been ungrounded to reject the hypothesis that they exhibit the normal distribution. The homogeneity analyses did not reveal either a rapid change in variance or in the mean value in the analysed series. The trends established by means of the linear trend function for full periods were not statistically significant. The trend analysis using the moving trend method has led to the identification of several subperiods which, precipitation-wise, differed dramatically. The statistically significant trends at the selected stations were observed in 1961-1980 – an upward trend, 1974-1993 –a downward trend, 1987-2003 – an upward trend. A statistically significant correlation expressed by means of the correlation coefficient between the analysed series of annual precipitation has been observed. Moreover, both humid and dry periods have been determined in compliance with Kaczorowska’s (1962) criterion.
