The aim of the present study was to determine the characteristics of the average, repetitive fragment of skidding operations. The study was conducted in mature pine stands and pine stands affected by natural disasters. The sequence of operations performed, characteristic for the analysed position, was described as a time series. The analysed time series trend was described after smoothing these series by moving average method, but fluctuations were identified by the seasonal decomposition method. Differentiation of the time structure of the work in the analysed stands was described by polynomials of the second and third degree. In late thinning stands, the trend and the cyclical nature of the work during over 20 consecutive operations allowed to determine the sample size of 40, 20 in each of two phases of the working day. In stands affected by snowblow, it was sufficient to measure the duration of 60 consecutive operations, 20 in each of three phases of the working day, as indicated by the trend line.
