Fatty acids content in functional margarines from Polish market was investigated. 13 samples which derived from different producers were examined: A (A1, A2, A3), B (B1, B2, B3), C (C1, C2, C3,C4,C5), D and E. The determination procedures were carried out using a GC method with Hewlett Packard type 5890 Series II. The obtained data were statistically analysed with use Statistica 9.0 method of analysis of concentrating. Oleinic, linoleic and linolenic acids were the compounds that caused the strongest differentiation in the objects in each of the group. The least homogeneous objects were C5 and A2, whereas the most homogeneous objects were A1 and A2. Accordings to the actual nutritional recommendations, the proportion of ω-6:ω-3 acids was the most profitable in E product (1.61), whilst the least profitable – in B1 product (6.55).
