The chemical composition of soil mass of selected albeluvisols from Wielkopolska region
Summary.

Nowadays on the basis of chemical composition of soil mass, transformation of soil cover due to pedogenetic and geogenetic processes might be done. This analysis should refer both to parent material of a studied soil and products of their weathering. In this work properties of Albeluvisols of the central Wielkopolska region was studied. Beside standard analyses of physico-chemical properties, special analysis, total chemical composition of soil mass was done. Molar rations and weathering indexes were calculated an the basis of formulas and guidelines given by Ross (1990) and Brahy et al. (2000). Changes in the oxides content were evaluated on the basis of formulas and guidelines given by Van Breemen and Buurman (1998), Komisarek (2000) and Muhs et al. (2001). Result obtained showed that the main component of soil mass was silica. The higher concentration of silica was founded in the eluvial horizons. In turn of glossic and illuvial horizons increase concentration of other oxides, especially iron and aluminium, was observed. Clear differences in the values of enrichment and depletion indexes for clay fraction and oxides in the particular soil horizons and computed weathering index for surface and subsurface horizons indicate that in the studied soil during their evolution deep changes in the chemical and mineral composition occurred. Result received confirm hypothesis, that the most important soil process, which from properties of Albeluvisols is lessivage process. Eluvial and illuvial processes which occur in Albeluvisols profiles and chemical weathering are responsible for diversification in chemical composition of soil mass of these profiles.

Key words: albeluvisols, chemical soil composition, weathering ratios, mobile and immobile elements, clay fraction
