In the article was described analysis of results research of sludge sedimentation in waters after a washing the iron removal filters. The research of sludge sedimentation was made for two the speedy filters. Filters are working in the Scientific Research Water Treatment Plant of the Agricultural University in Warsaw which is supplying with water the entire college and student houses. One of filters was filled up with quartz sand about grains from 0.8 to 1.2 mm, but with the other impregnated thermally dolomite, that is roasted (NEVTRACO) about grains from 1.2 to 2.5 mm. Treated water in a speedy filters was take out from formations Quaternary with the aid of the bored wells. The roasted dolomite bed applied in the water treatment plant is characteristic about the 8%, the better effectiveness in removing compounds of iron than the quartz bed. Biggest volume of sludge in waters after washing iron removal filters are settling during first 30 min. A volume of sludge is making it round about the 75% on average in comparison with the entire time of sedimentation.
