The paper assesses the conditions of eutrophication of the Tresna reservoir, which is the most important object in the Soła cascade. The aim of the studies was to assess vulnerability of the reservoir to eutrophication and intensity of the process. Methodological recommendations for monitoring the trophic state of dam reservoirs of southern Poland have been used in the studies. The trophic state of waters of the main tributary has been assessed. The studies showed that the reservoir is vulnerable to eutrophication (category II of vulnerability) and is fed with eutrophic waters. It is thus subject to eutrophication whose intensity is 5 in the 0-10 rank. Because of high economic importance of the reservoir and its location in the water-bearing region, further use of the water body requires protective measures in the form of reduction of the load of inflowing pollutants.
