Interactions between facultative methylotrophs and other soil microorganisms were investigated. In laboratory conditions antagonism of the methylotrophs isolated from rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soil of barley to some bacteria, actinomycetes and fungi, as well as their sensitivity to antibiotics were determined. It has been found that most of methylotrophs were antagonistic to Bacillus subtilis, less to fluorescing Pseudomonas strain 8M and soil actinomycetes. Some of methylotrophs exhibited inhibition to fungi Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida sp. and Alternaria tenuis. On the other hand, sensitivity of all methylotrophs to antagonism of actinomycetes was observed. Methylotrophs isolated from the rhizosphere were more sensitive to used antibiotics than those from the non-rhizosphere soil.
