Comparison of growth models in package R
Summary.
In this paper we present five growth models (growth curves; growth curve models): exponential, Gompertz, logistic, log-logistic and Weibull. For each growth curve the formula and graphical representation are described. Next, we introduce in package R methods for estimation of the model parameters and goodness of fit to the data criteria: Akaike Information Criterion and Bayesian Information Criterion. This criteria permit comparing and choosing the best model. In further part an example illustrating the process of estimating parameters and choosing the best model for a given dataset is presented.
