Use of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis method (FMEA) for evaluation of ecological risks in the water-courses after regulation and maintenance works
Summary.
In the paper the possibility of the application of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in the evaluation of ecological risk during the water-courses regulation and maintenance works was analysed. The basis of the analysis were field studies, which were carried out during the years 2007-2008 in 14 lowland water-courses in the Lower Silesia, which were after the water-courses regulation or maintenance works. It enabled to determine the risk factors such as the probability of threats, the effects of these threats and the possibility of their detection. The analysis showed the usefulness of this method for planning of the works in the water-courses beds.
