The Nadwieprzański Landscape Park, which is located in the Lublin Province, attracts the agricultural activity, while its opportunities for outdoor leisure, recreation and tourism need promotion. The objective of the present studies was to evaluate some grass associations resistance to the mechanical damage produced by expanding tourism. The results of the phytosociological studies and Kostrowicki’s indices characterizing the treading resistance of a plant species sprouts facilitated the assessment of tourism carrying capacity of grassland under study. In the middle part of Wieprz river valley, the grass associations of Molinio-Arrhenatheretea and Phragmitetea class were mainly established. However, only some communities within Molinio-Arrhenatheretea class characterized usefulness as the sites for active tourism. The highest resistance to mechanical damage was shown by the plants of Lolio-Polygonetum arenastris association, while the lowest – Alopecuretum pratensis association plants.
