Against the background of the plain landscape of central Poland, a picturesque valley of the Pilica river is distinguishing itself together with various landscapes connected with the river and its tributaries as well as the adjacent forested areas. The most interesting and picturesque part of the Pilica valley is near the river close to Inowłodz. The valley and upland landscape is enriched with forest areas which are remnants of the old Pilicka primeval forest. On the area of the Park and its buffer area there are many valuable objects being a cultural heritage of the region. They are first of all: a Roman St. Idzi Church in Inowłódz, a cloister in Studzianna-Poświętne or an old hunter residence in Spała. An original touristic route system can be based on the existing tourist and leisure base of the area through including other attractive natural and cultural elements. The article shows tourist values of the Spalski Landscape Park especially focusing on the development elements forming a potential not used in tourism industry today.
