Dawn redwood in landscape architecture
Summary.

The landscape, also in winter, is ornamented mostly with evergreen trees. It is important to interest landscape architects, town planners and all other people with deciduous species. They all have qualities and ornamental values rare with other coniferous trees. Such an interesting species is Dawn redwood. This tree has characteristic beautiful, narrow conical shape. It forms trunk with branches on all its length. It has bright-green needles in spring, changing colours in autumn for yellow, foxy red-brown and ruby red. In bald condition ornamenting element for landscape is reddish-brown or yellowish-brown bark. The trunk has curious hollows down to the main branches. Plants growing singly or in a row are very impressive. In Poland over one thousand big trees are growing. It is not as rare as it was supposed.
