Influence of alien plant species, beside habitats loss, is considered the strongest hazard to biodiversity. It is especially important in project of green areas in neighbourhoods of protected areas. The aim of this study is an analysis of natural and cultural determinant, which become a basis of design of an education garden for Ecological Station “Storczyk” belonging to Wrocław University and located in Karpacz, in buffer zone of the Karkonosze National Park. The proposed project is an example of implementation of principles of management agreeable with nature conservation act including balanced usage of biodiversity. The plants proposed in the project of education garden are in accordance with potential natural vegetation of the lower mountain zone of the Karkonosze Mountains.
