For more than 40 years, the city of Kazimierz Dolny has been in the hearts and minds of Poles as a valued place crammed with dear historical and scenery associations, a permanent attraction magnetizing tourists from all over the country and beyond. The ever-increasing flow of tourists, more so in the summer time, has brought a new set of standards to which the city cannot always quite live up to. Among areas for development, in this respect, are food and accommodation industry, tourist service, and others. New types of events have spawn, such as corporate conferences, international forums, etc. At the same time, numerous cultural and historical sights worth visiting are not promoted in the right way along with the lack of infrastructure projects. The below article presents problems of changing the image and functionality of tourist-attractive locations so that they correspond to the modern requirements at international level and is exemplified with the case of Kazimierz Dolny.
