Anthropopressure factors causing trees to die off in urban landscape
Summary. The phenomenon of dying trees on urbanized areas is unjustly associated primarily with climatic changes. The majority of causes are directly or indirectly connected with human activity. The most important elements of anthropopressure responsible for dying of trees include, among others: deteriorating structure and porosity of soils, disturbed chemical balance in soils, absence or improper fertilization and devastation of tree stands. Factors which cause dying of trees are not difficult to define, however, their removal or at least limitation of their effects is not simple. So far, our society frequently has to make a choice between the welfare of human beings and plant protection without further consideration of the mutual interdependence for a harmonious life in this world. The experiences and examples of out Western neighbours indicate the necessity of coexistence which is not only necessary, but also possible.
Key words: tree stand, urban soils, salinity, heavy metals
